Notes Glossary
  • Confused with C. heterophyllus var. pseudosimulans (unpublished), which is more coastal. Some populations threatened by proposed reservoir construction, but many populations occur on public lands (Anza Borrego SP, BLM, and USFS). Also threatened by urbanization, invasive species, grazing, and road construction.

? Uncertain about distribution or identity
?* Uncertain about distribution, but presumed extirpated if once present
(?) Occurrence confirmed, but possibly extirpated
Species may be present in other areas where conditions are favorable.
