Known from fewer than twenty occurrences. One population (583C) introduced. Threatened by urbanization, road widening, and herbicide application. Needs taxonomic study; see L. luteolus in The Jepson Manual (1993). See Four Seasons 1(3):8-9 (1965) for differentiation from L. luteolus.
